Bringing home your new puppy is going to be one of your most memorable and exciting experiences! We want it to be as easy and as stress-free as possible and the best way to do that is for you to be prepared for your puppy's arrival before Go Home Day. Here is a list we've compiled of things you can have on hand to make the transition is as seamless as possible. Some of these are essentials and some are just our personal favorites and items that we have found that have made our lives easier.

1. A crate- your puppy will come home already exposed to their crate and started on crate training. We highly recommend crate training continue. It will provide your puppy with a safe haven to feel secure in, aid you in continuing potty training and make sure that your puppy doesn't get itself into any dangerous situations while you aren't watching.

2. Puzzle feeders- Poodles are a deep-chested breed that can be prone to a condition called bloat. Puzzle feeders prevent your new puppy from eating too quickly (which can cause bloat) and also provides your puppy with mental stimulation, which is essential for them.

3. Slopper Stopper- We love this water bowl that keeps water contained and prevents messes.

4. Snuggle Puppy- This sweet toy aids your puppy in its transition from being one of many and always having a snuggle buddy, to being the only "child".  For many puppies, this is the hardest part of going home, but this snuggle toy helps them feel comforted as they adjust.

5. Natural Balance Salmon Puppy Food- This is the food we feed our Poodles here. We love the high-quality, grain-inclusive formula and our puppies and adults have always thrived on this chicken-free food. If you'd like to switch to a different food, we recommend a gradual transition to another chicken-free food.

6. Kong Toys and other teething toys for puppies- Puppies have sharp teeth! And they teeth a lot between 3-4 months of age. Teething toys are so helpful to redirect their chewing and biting needs.

7. Grooming supplies- Slicker brush, comb, paraben-free puppy shampoo, conditioner, high velocity dryer if you'd like to do puppy grooming at home.
